Basic Daily Exercises to Help Your Posture

I’m Dana, Pilates Instructor, ELDOA Trainer and founder of Plus Pilates. I’m on a mission to help others change their bodies in order to improve the quality of their lives.

The Trio Posture Package I put together is a simple series of 3 exercises that you can do anywhere to relieve neck, shoulder and back tension and to build core strength, which will improve your posture overall.

Use them anytime and anywhere when you feel you need a quick body adjustment – at work throughout the day, while preparing dinner at home, or even when you’re waiting at a traffic light!

You will feel the results immediately!

Now, let’s dive in.

At the bottom of this email you will find a video explaining how to do each of the exercises, as well as the video password you will need to watch it. Keep this video link handy with you on your phone or work computer.

 

Details on each one of the exercises:

 

1) Shoulder Rolls – seated or standing or even while you’re walking.
This is for anyone who has tension in the neck, jaw and shoulder areas and people who store tension in the area due to stress.

Doing 100 shoulder rolls throughout the day will provide significant blood flow in the area, help you feel less tension in the neck and shoulders and reduce stress.

 

2) Seated Core Activation Exercise.
This basic exercise is for anyone who wants to build strength in their abdominals, understand how they support the body and help to create better posture and prevent, as well as relieve back pain. In addition, it’s a fantastic exercise to do throughout pregnancy and after delivery to reconnect to your core.

 

3) Sunrise Exercise.
This exercise is for anyone who needs a micro break during the day. Repeat the Sunrise Exercise throughout your day to feel more energized and focussed.

Each time you do this exercise you will feel connected to your core and gain awareness of a straight spine, which will lead to better posture.
